Dear All,
This week, we experienced an LTI incident. At 2:45 PM, the Rig Driver was transporting two passengers from the Rig Camp to the Rig site using the crew bus. At 3:00 PM, the Driver was instructed to collect a parcel for the Rig from a nearby location on Blacktop Road. After picking up the parcel, the Driver continued on a graded road and was supposed to make a right turn at a T-junction.
However, at 3:15 PM, instead of turning right, the Driver went straight off the road while traveling at 70 km/h. This caused a sudden jolt in the bus. Although the Driver managed to stop the bus safely, he reported back pain and was taken to Haima Hospital, accompanied by the Rig Medic. The medical assessment confirmed an injury to one of the vertebral bones. No external injuries were found, and all passengers were wearing seatbelts. Thankfully, no other individuals were injured in the incident.
