Based on the incident trend across PDO a companywide stand down has been initiated. In wells we had initiated a stand down early this month due to our HSE performance  and would urge all of you to continue with the same and ensure all your crew have been engaged with. Please focus on having Effective Musta¿ed Engagement prior any task to ensure we identify all the risk before we start the job and if at all we fail we fail safe. Below is the compliance to various Musta¿ed Elements from the incidents that happed this year. Controlling Energy , Checking Equipment , Final checks are the areas where we need to comply more to reduce our incidents.

 

 

Engage with your crew , select an incident which happened in your location and see how you could have prevented them with an Effective Musta¿ed Engagement.

 

Fatality Action Alert

 

Also attached is the Action alert from a non PDO fatality related to Tires. Please share the same with users off Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGV)  and personnel /workshop conducting tire repairs in your location.

 

 

Environmental Compliance on Waste Management

Referring to the recent Environment Authority (EA) findings and observations related to waste management at different locations within PDO concession areas, kindly find the attached pack addressing key issues, and required corrective actions.

Please take a moment to go through the attached pack and cascade it to your team to take immediate actions and ensure complying to the law and environmental requirements.

Reminder I HSE Contractor Awards

Dear Colleagues,

 

As part of PDO¿s efforts to recognise excellence and to encourage exceptional performance in the field of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) within our Contractor Community. We are pleased to launch the PDO HSE Contractor Awards highlighting PDO¿s key Contractors who strive towards cultivating a safer working environment.

The Awards are designed to focus on demonstrated best practices in safety as well as in areas such as occupational health, mental health, welfare, net zero, environmental sustainability and lastly to recognise efforts of key HSE Professionals in our community.

Furthermore, this award extends to recognise the HSE Professionals that demonstrate outstanding achievement in the occupational safety and health (OSH) field while also advancing their HSE capabilities and contributions towards the community.

The Awards Objective is:

  • Build a positive safety culture and a safe working environment.
  • Collectively work towards continuous improvement of health and safety in the workplace.
  • Encourage the betterment of ourselves and our contractor community through learning from experiences and striving for excellence.

HSE Reminders

 

Safety Stand-Down:

Please continue for the `Safety Stand-Down¿ pack attached, to serve as an aid in having reflective conversations within your teams. We encourage all sites to conduct the safety stand-down. Please ensure the same is conducted for all shifts.

 

Expectations are as below :-

  1. TL/Operation Managers to have a stand-down with their units supervisors (Site and offices) to discuss the town hall material and have effective engagement on current worrying trend.
  2. Supervisors to engage with site crews and have the same discussion (cover 4 shifts).
  3. Supervisors to share DROP prevention CIs to UWZ team. Best ideas will be recognized.
  4. TL/Operation Managers to personalize the slides for their units if needed.
  5. TL/Operation Managers to ensure all units are covered within 4 weeks.

 

Learning From Assurance

 

The Self Assurance theme (level 3 auditing) for the month of August is HSE MS & Safety CasePlease ensure one level 3 Self Assurance (site visit) audit is completed by the Team Lead / SWE for each Cluster before the end of the month and is recorded in IDEAL: IDEAL (pdo.om)

 

Attached is a PWR on load restraint requirement. Recent incidents have showed that improperly secured loads of cargo or equipment contribute to severity of road safety accidents.  Please refer to attached PWR to refresh the load restraint requirement and refer to SP-2001 Load Safety and Restraining for details.
